After all, are not relationships a dance of identities, a cocktail mixed from varying measures of empathy, understanding, resilience? And aren't our personas, like cocktails, finely balanced with strong notes of self-identity, mixed with the delicacy of vulnerability? Then there are the inner thoughts, the hidden trembles of the heart that we so ardently try to mask. These are your secrets, your fears, your wildest fantasies. They are what make you...you. They are your personal narrative, a book that is 100% free, links of emotion that chain the chapters of your life. I gently encourage my clients to open these books before their partners, inviting them into the secret libraries of their hearts, a place seldom visited by anyone else. It's an act of trust, an act of surrender. I suppose that's where the control comes into play. It isn't the brash, dictatorial type of control but rather the quiet, subtle control that allows us to dictate the pace, the intensity, and the depth of our shared experiences. Wrap yourself in the skin of love, a love that balances desire with deep emotional connection, a connection that transcends the physical, reaching into the chasms of your psyche. This vibrant tapestry of our emotional journey requires a soft touch to handle, an understanding soul to appreciate, and a strong character to protect. So, what do you choose today? Do you choose to take that slow dance to the rhythm of your emotions? Or do you let the fear of vulnerability bury your innermost thoughts from the eyes of your beloved? My belief is that everyone should be allowed to feel, to express, to be in love irrespective of their identity.
